Every year WateReuse Florida provides three scholarships to worthy university students pursuing a career in water resources, water reuse, water supply, treatment or desalination. Scholarships of $1,000 each are provided to the University of Central Florida, University of Florida, and University of South Florida and are administered through the University’s College of Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering Departments undergraduate scholarship program. Scholarships are for a qualified and deserving incoming junior or senior student who has the following qualifications:


  • A full time student with a GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Expressed interest in pursuing a career in water resources, water reuse, water supply, treatment or desalination
  • Has achieved at least a junior status level in terms of hours earned
  • Has the recommendation of faculty and the Department chair
  • Has a research project or topic that is germane to the issues facing water reuse or desalination
  • Experience, such as an intern position, in the water reuse or desalination field is a plus


Application deadlines are specific to the university, but are generally the beginning of the calendar year.
